Our Story
Our collective was born out of the desire to create a global network that would connect people doing the work around the African diaspora. Our founding members are uniquely skilled as they are all United Nations Senior Fellows trained under the Fellowship Programme of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.
Our Goals
To promote any charitable purposes for the benefit of the public, particularly for Africans and people of African descent with particular regard to United Nations mechanisms including the UN International Decade for Persons of African Descent, and the Durban Declaration Programme of Activities, including by advancing their rights and needs through our priority goals:
EDUCATE: Research, events, training, awareness-raising, and increasing understanding and knowledge
EMPOWER: Monitoring, advocating and promoting Black peoples human rights, including compliance at the national and international level
MOBILIZE: The provision of specialist human rights information, support, and representation including taking action to prevent disadvantage, discrimination, or exclusion, submissions to the UN committees
We work for all Africans and people of African descent to live in a world where we have received healing, reparative, and racial justice because that is a world where we are free.
